🎨 Call for Artists: Help Tell Arkansas’s Story Through Art

As the United States approaches its 250th anniversary in 2026, Arkansas is preparing to celebrate its own rich history, culture, and contributions to the nation — and local artists are invited to play a starring role.

The Arkansas250 Commission, in partnership with the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage, and Tourism and the Arkansas Arts Council, has announced a statewide call for commissioned artwork that will capture the spirit and story of Arkansas.

This unique opportunity gives artists across the state the chance to help shape how the Natural State is represented during America’s Semiquincentennial celebration.

🖌 Who Can Apply

To be eligible, applicants must:

Be 18 years or older
Be a U.S. citizen
Have been an Arkansas resident for at least one year

This call is open to artists working in all mediums who are ready to create a piece that reflects the essence of Arkansas — from its landscapes and people to its innovation, resilience, and creative energy.

📝 How to Apply

Artists will need to submit:

A completed application form
Up to three sample drawings or concept sketches
A current resume
An artist’s statement
Portfolio samples showcasing their previous work

After initial submissions are reviewed, selected finalists will be invited to meet with the Arkansas250 Commission for in-person presentations before the final artist is chosen.
